How to Organize Your Digital Life with the Moon Cycle—So Technology Works for You (Not Against You)
The Digital Chaos We’re All Drowning In
Does this sound familiar? You get a message on WhatsApp, then a voice note on Facebook Messenger, a text from a friend, a Telegram notification from a group you forgot you joined, 10 new personal emails screaming about “LAST CHANCE DEALS!”, 50 more in your work inbox offering “game-changing strategies” (which may or may not be clickbait), and a few Instagram DMs—one from some guy with a profile full of blurry gym selfies and of course there is always the promise of financial freedom through crypto (hard pass).
And let’s not even talk about Pinterest boards, saved Instagram posts, and that growing list of browser tabs you swear you’ll read later (but never do). Who can keep up?!
Even when you do find something interesting, it turns into a rabbit hole—you don’t have time to look at it now, so you save it… and then it disappears into the void. Or you meticulously organize everything into folders, only to never open them again.
Then, when it’s finally quiet and you have time to catch up? The last thing you want to do is look at another screen. Sigh.
I get it. And that’s exactly why I wanted to write about practical ways to stay informed and organized—without the overwhelm.
The Problem with Traditional Digital Organization
Most of us try to solve digital clutter by saving, sorting, or silencing—but none of these actually help us stay on top of what matters.
📂 Organizing into folders? Great… but if you never go back to read them, you’ve just hidden them away.
🔕 Turning off notifications? Peaceful, sure—but now you have no idea what’s waiting for you.
📩 Leaving everything in your inbox? Having just recently hit 9,999 unread emails, my arteries started pulsing every time I looked at my phone. At this point, my inbox isn’t a communication tool—it’s a graveyard for forgotten newsletters and last-chance sales I never signed up for.
So how do we stay informed without drowning in digital noise?
The Wild Woman Way: Organizing Digital Life in Flow with the Moon Cycle
I didn’t always work this way. In fact, I used to push through every task the same way, every week, wondering why some days felt effortless and others felt like a slog. Then I came across Kate Northrup’s book Do Less—and I read it three times when I was desperately searching for a way to well… do less! It completely changed how I approach planning, productivity, and even digital organization. Instead of fighting my natural rhythms, I learned to work with them.
Her work helped me see that our energy isn’t linear—it’s cyclical, just like the moon. Once I started structuring my work accordingly, everything clicked. Now, I use this same approach to keep my digital life in sync with my energy, rather than letting technology dictate my time.
Instead of fighting the flood of information, let’s take a different approach—one that works with your energy, focus, and mental clarity rather than against it.
I’ve found that organizing my digital life in sync with the moon cycle (which mirrors our natural hormone rhythms) helps me:
Stay on top of tasks without burning out
Reduce decision fatigue by doing the right tasks at the right time
Keep my digital space clear and purposeful

🛠️ Best Digital Organization Tasks:
Declutter mentally—review your digital tools and decide what’s actually useful.
Journal & reflect—capture insights about what’s working and what needs to change.
Reduce screen time—limit social media, emails, and non-essential digital tasks.
✨ Support Tool: Wild Woman Collective—Use this phase to go inward, reflect, and set aligned intentions for the next cycle.
For women who are in post-menopause—this method still applies! In fact, it might even be easier. Instead of tracking your cycle, simply look up at the moon to determine where you are in the cycle and align your tasks accordingly.
